Mission:
Preservation Instinct
Location: Shuttle Bay | USS Ontario
Timeline: Just Before Away Mission
ON:
We've never met in person but...I feel the same. I think that there is something special between us and I know you didn't want to reveal who you are and what ship your on but...maybe we could start again, slow. Without hiding behind friendship. We've shared so many intimate thoughts and danced around it but maybe its time to really get to know one another knowing that there is more then friendship between us and behind what we feel. I'm not saying we video chat right away but is it wrong of me to find all this romantic and want to fall into the romance? Anyway. I've said it. There. The ball, as Humans say, is in your court.
Xavier closed the messages and stood up. His legs still felt like jelly. He had the urge to run, to make a noise to .... he didn't know what but his heart was hammering and his legs wouldn't work and as he stepped he crashed to the floor with a thunk and a pain he didn't, but knew he should feel. His body was shaking but it felt like a weight had been lifted off him. His mind was flooded with feelings he couldn't name.
A voice, as if from far away, called his name.
Tox, having sent his message returned to the shuttle. He'd felt better sending it and when he'd walked in he saw the tail end of the Lieutenant's collapse. His medical mind kicked into full gear and he tossed his shoulder medical kit to the ground. Reaching in his tricorder holster he pulled it out as he knelt by the pilot. The readings had his eyes wide. Flyboy's readings were off the chart. Heart hammering, he was shaking, sweating. He wasn't having an anxiety attack but he was... cold, his breathing rapid, there was greenish tint to his lips and his beautiful emeralds eyes, that up close looked like a mossy green that you see in a forest during summer rain were wild, the pupils starting to spread an inky blackness over the forest green. Shock
He was in no state to fly but hell he'd be yanked off the team if someone saw him like this. Thinking quick Tox closed the shuttle door. His medical training kicked in, Stabilize the patient. He's cold, body temp. Vulcans are warm and if he is cold to a Trill he is ice cold. He laid the pilot down flat and used the medical kit to lift his legs a bit. He then removed his jacket and tossed it over Xavier. His organs had enough blood flow, his breathing was rapid but not horrible so his oxygen was getting where it needed to go. There was no injury that he could see. Blood pressure, was not a factor. Damned Vulcan blood pressure could make you think a person was dead. He cursed under his breath. No water, not until he knew what was going on. He gently shook Xavier's shoulder. "Flyboy! Yo, focus on my voice and face. What's going on? Talk to me. Make a sound." His eyes kept on the readings and the tricorder told him things were slowly easing. Emotional then. He wondered briefly what could have have happened in the short time he left to send a message to PLUTO. Had someone come by? He shook his head.
"Flyboy!"
It took a few moments before the pilot could speak. "I...I am fine."
"You're not fine. You're in shock." When he saw Xavier trying to move he placed a hand on the Vulcan's chest pressing down. "Stay down. Your readings aren't back to Vulcan normal."
Xavier let out a puff of air. "Vulcan normal?"
"Yeah almost non existent readings."
"I am fine..." Xavier pushed up again. His sudden move knocked Tox off his balance as his eyes were trained on the tricorder. Xavier saw the man tip back and could see he'd have hit his head in the panel. With lightening fast reflexes he reached out and pulled on Tox's arm pulling the man forward and sending them both back to the ground. Xavier straight on his back and Tox splayed over him.
Tox cursed and shuffled to his left but that only aligned his face with Xavier's. His eyes widened. "FLYBOY! What in the ..." The rest of it died on his lips as his own heart began to thunk against his chest. Gods damned Vulcan with his captivating forest green eyes with amber flakes in them. It's as if the swirl of chaos is in those eyes. Deep, captivating, pulling me in He gasped a little and sat up. "What was that?"
"I sat up and you were about to fall back and hit your head and I grabbed your arm to ensure that you weren't going to hit your head on the panel..."
Tox turned away to hide the flush of his face. The damned annoying Vulcan with the almond shaped eyes was talking a mile a minute. Tox scrambled off him and turned back to the tricorder. His pulse was still high but all else had evened out.
Xavier shut up. He quickly stood ignoring the rush to his head that spun the room. His face was flushed green. He tried to shake the memory of Tox's body pressed to his, those eyes, like dark storm clouds that seemed to take on a polished steel colour when he laughed or smiled. Xavier shook his head. "I ... need to go change." He shot out of the shuttle fast as he could like a coward. What the Hades?
Tox slumped down and let out a breath. With a slight tremble to his hands he picked up his tricorder and medical kit. he took up his jacket, the one he'd used to cover Xavier, the one that now smelled like cedarwood, musk, and leather with a hint of citrus.
He groaned. "I think I need a walk." He stowed his kit on a seat and headed out. "Damned jacket, I cannot do this mission when it smells like that. Damn Flyboy and his damned mouth-watering scent."
In the end he hadn't changed the jacket. There was something comforting and familiar about that scent and as distracting as it was it seemed to calm him. Tox decided to not read into this too much. Focus on PLUTO. He finally admitted what he feels. You can't be distracted by hot Vulcans. He gave himself a little slap as he re-entered the shuttle after his walk. He was the first one back. He picked up his med kit, sowed it under seat and pulled out a book while he waited for everyone else who was going on this damned away mission.
